Dr. Timothy D. Fries

Dr. Fries completed his undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Evolution, Ecology and Organismal Biology.

He received his Doctor of Optometry in 2004 from The Ohio State University College of Optometry where he graduated cum laude and was inducted into two international optometric honor societies.

Dr. Fries completed many external rotations focused on ocular disease and primary eye care. He also has extensive experience in geriatric and nursing home eye care and has spent time as a Clinical Instructor at The Ohio State University College of Optometry with a focus on fitting contact lenses.

Dr. Fries was appointed by Governor Ted Strickland to the State of Ohio Optical Dispensers Board in 2007, where he serves as the only optometrist. He also serves on the Epsilon Psi Epsilon Optometric Fraternity Alumni Board and is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Ohio Optometric Association.
In his free time Dr. Fries enjoys traveling, watching Ohio State Athletics and the Cincinnati Reds, playing golf and listening to music. His favorite place to travel is Ireland and his favorite band is U2. He and his wife, Cheryl also enjoy spending time with their dog, Paddington.

Dr. John W. Zahara

Zahara graduated from Ohio State University with both a B.S. degree in Physiological Optics and a Doctor of Optometry degree. After graduation, Dr. Zahara was chief Optometrist at Beach Army Hospital in Texas before setting up practice in Grove City. Dr. Zahara's primary interests are pathology (disease) detection and contacts. Dr. Zahara utilizes special equipment such as an Optomap to detect and record retinal pathology.
